Today (3rd Monday in January) is known as Blue Monday. It is so called as it is the most depressing day of the year. I wonder if there are any world events happening today that could make this day even worse 🤔

Hull to Hornsea and back. Lots of sheet ice along the way. Big fat slicks were probably the wrong the choice.

Starting my new year's resolution early. Time to start working on restoring some fitness back. Lovely ride from North ferriby along the bank of the Humber, over the Humber bridge and a quick tea stop on the other side. Perfect weather for it.

I'm glad I had my bike for the commute today. Definitely nicer than sitting in the massive traffic jam.

My front hope (titanium?) Hub. I built into new rims. I love purple nipples. I restored an XT hub on the rear. I put these wheels on a 1991 stumpjumper.

My rear hope hub (possibly titanium). Not sure the exact year but it's a screw-on design so pre-hyperglide. Fitted to a Kona that has an early 6 speed deore XT thumbshifter.

I've not been on blue sky for a while. Here's a slightly wet ride to Hornsea. The wetter the ride the sweeter the cake.

It was so windy on the ride to work today. I took the cyclepath that goes through Hull and along the Humber estuary. It's a short section that's not on the road.
