Oh wow, Rick Scott's FMAP amendment — the one functionally eviscerating Medicaid expansion — won't even make it to the floor.

I assumed it didn't have the votes, but this means Republican leadership thinks downside political risk of getting votes for the amendment on the record is too high to bear.
Amendment targeting Medicaid expansion won't get a Senate vote
Sen. Rick Scott's effort ran into serious GOP opposition.

And I’m standing up, contacting my legislators about how destructive this is.
If you are a public servant (government/academic/research, etc.) or working on topics that are specifically under attack, I just want to say my heart is with you. Your work is valuable. You are valuable.

Ladapo is dangerous for public health. There. I said it
Trump advisers are reported to be debating whether FL's surgeon general Joseph Ladapo, who, among other things, failed to appropriately address a measles outbreak and suggested Covid boosters are dangerous, "should be CDC director, surgeon general or Kennedy’s assistant secretary for health."
Some very interesting names in this @politico.com report on possible Trump admin health picks:
* The Means siblings in senior roles (Casey potential Surgeon Gen, Calley in a top deputy role -- but neither at FDA)
* CDC, NIH possibles

Maybe if we start calling our body parts gun-sounding names like “revulva” or “shooterus” the GOP will stop trying to regulate them.

As redeterminations of Medicaid eligibility have resumed, millions have lost coverage for solely procedural reasons.
