It’s absurd enough that it really only seems to have two purposes:
1. Extract as much money as possible while wrecking human lives.
2. Fail so spectacularly that they can then extract as much money as possible from the government by getting bailed out by their pals.

I’m not saying it cannot be used like that; I’m saying in standard use it is mostly directed at women.
And I would argue that often when directed at men it is intended to link them with women in a negative way.
Not always… but often (maybe even almost always).

Really? In American English it generally is. When used to describe men it might (probably) also imply a lack of masculinity.

I went to high-school in Lawrence and definitely underestimated how unique that part of city was. And having the farmers market there was a huge boon. My parents sold there for many years (might still, I don’t know lol) and it was always fascinating to see how bustling it was.
