BLUE PRINCE is on sale on Steam - this is the best puzzle game I've ever played. Highly highly recommend. If you haven't seen my posts on it, my wife and I worked on it together, filling up half a notebook in the process, and had an absolute blast.

For weeks after leaving Japan I look forward to getting up and walking away from my home toilet without flushing and having to come back in a huff a moment later.

What’s that last little piece keeping you from completing your (frankly obvious at this point) villain arc?

Your Honor, My Lord
To a stranger I might be 先生 too, but if it’s a stranger who wants to sell me something, I get the best honorific, which is 帥哥.

Trying something different and editing a draft on my Kindle Scribe instead of in Word and it’s really tickling my “went to high school in the 90s” brain.

Done. Now it’s time to reread and wonder what on earth I was thinking about every single sentence.

I am in the final 6-7 thousand words of a novel and now is the perfect time to have a ton of ideas on things I should go back and add.

Getting back into a writing project is a weird feeling.

Who was I when I wrote this six weeks ago? Apparently a totally different person.

I accept that I’ll rewrite everything from then but for now it’s just a 10k word writing prompt.

There is an alternate history where Tulsa doesn’t lose the oil industry to Houston and grows an urban core to rival Chicago.

Probably in this reality the Arkansas has been deepened for heavier freight. Maybe the cattle industry centralized around Tulsa as a gateway.

Architecture of this would rock

My favorite part about Threads is the one person who posted, like, maybe a reel once a week and a photo once a month, and somehow they already have more than two screens worth of thread posts.

Another random Chicago observation: random cars with extremely loud music cruising at night. Not something I notice as frequently anywhere else.

Chicago is weird: it’s got a strong sense of place (so, not a nowhere metropolis) but also distinctly feels like part of the US at large (unlike NYC, which sometimes feels like a place unto itself).

Not a complaint! Chicago, you rock.
