PBS News Hour foreign affairs and defense correspondent Nick Schifrin reported Tuesday that, according to a U.S. official, the U.S. military struck the boat on Sept. 2 a total of four times: twice to kill the 11 people who were on board, and twice more to sink the boat.

They’re condoning assault of their neighbors.

In contributing to the militarization of border policing, UTS frames migrants as dangerous individuals from which officers "are expected to protect the border safely against." According to the company, CBP agents can use PepperBalls to "protect everyone safely" against "illegal aliens, rock throwers, rioters, and more." Outside of the U.S., Pepper Ball projectiles have been used by the Israeli military against Palestinian civilians in the occupied West Bank and by police officers against protestors in Australia, Hong Kong, India, Malaysia, and Turkey.
