This just seems like an excuse to give up. The US is different because we are individual states united by a single government. What's happening in one state can be completely different from what is happening in even a neighboring state. Doomerism only helps them win.

What makes you think we aren't? Sure this is a bad situation, but it is also something we can overcome as long as we stay strong and keep fighting. If this administration was a piece of chicken it would still be raw. Giving up before the fight starts is how you lose.

The answer is that we are big and disconnected from each other. I can barely keep a hand on how people feel in my own state, let alone the rest of the country. This happened because we were too distracted by our infighting.

Ignoring the content of these jokes, they aren't even funny. The delivery is so bad. Like, anyone actually laughing at this is either lying or in line with Elon beliefs. Neither of those is good.

From my experience, there are more tankies/communists in favor of federated social platforms since that's literally their thing. Federated social media is the ability to start a self moderated server that makes its own rules. The server provider is the rule maker, not the individual.

The people running the server make that decision. If you don't like the moderation you can move to a different server run by someone else.
