I got lucky in finding Lucian, and I know my experience of being able to have my ex-racing greyhound off lead with no muzzle is rare. I am very grateful.

It took a lot of training with help from trusted friends and their pets, but Lucian no longer shows prey drive to cats. In fact, he is scared of cats due to a simple bop on the nose from the cat Ciao.

If he sees a cat while he is out, he now makes himself small and walks away from them submissively

When I first got Lucian, I was fully prepared to have him on the lead for the rest of his life.

I was told greyhounds could not learn recall, and were likely to simply run away.

This may be true for some, as they all come with similar but oh-so-different backgrounds.
