Today's sigil, a combination of Spare-type and rune work, was created in consultation with my good friend Brian.

This is ICEBreaker, protection from and curse against ICE.

Utilize as thou wilt.

Maybe if we had an actual leftist agenda, something like a Project Fully Automated Luxury Gay Space Communism that we would insist on pushing through without regard to what they want, they might have to do those things. Just a thought.
It’s just frustrating that the right wing never has to do shit, even when they lose. Never have to reach out, to welcome, to understand, to moderate their positions. They get to be who they are & never apologize for it and people will blame progressives for not putting up with that shit
Twitter isn't real you stupid motherfucker. The algo is rigged and the trolls are bots.

What is the future of news?

Want to build a news org that withstands the triple menaces of authoritarianism, oligarchy and Big Tech; *AND* also supports #democracy?
The brilliant @mariaressa.bsky.social & @rappler.bsky.social are doing this.

This is much less polished than AOC tends to be these days, even "off the cuff," which makes me think it's not only entirely sincere, but that she's holding back significantly stronger vituperation.
AOC comes out swinging against a Nancy Mace for targeting Sarah McBride.

"They're doing this so that Nancy Mace can ... fundraise off an email. They're not doing this to protect people. They're endangering women, they're endangering girls of all kinds. And everybody should reject it. It's gross."

A lot of people are asking, “What can we do to protect our parks from being destroyed by the Trump admin?” Let’s be honest, the next four years are going to be tough. Just like the first term, we anticipate a relentless assault on the environment-maybe even worse, now that lessons were learned. 1/4

In environmental conservation spaces there’s this tendency for those with a social science background to default to a “knowledge gap” model of problems …

This is the point at which I sympathetically and politely remind you all that science communication is a field of study. The failure of the “deficit model” of science is well researched.

If facts alone accomplished persuasion, no one would smoke and everyone would wear motorcycle helmets.

At least in conservation, there’s also something to be said for “facts are necessary but not sufficient”. They’ll only get you so far. My evidence for this: the overwhelming # of folks who I talk to who already know there’s a prob, agree it’s a prob and don’t know what to do about it
