After explaining why the Reds and Diamondbacks would be difficult wild card opponents for the Dodgers, Jessica Mendoza, an otherwise excellent commentator, goes on to say why the #Mets would be the weakest. I hope the Mets get to the wild card round and prove her wrong! #LGM

This is a warning to all would-be #Mets fans. I cautioned my grandson, when he had his whole life ahead of him, about the dangers of becoming a Mets fan. His twin sister can vouch for that. From his expression, you can see that he did not take me seriously. We are all paying the price.

Charley, I understand your point of course, but age has had the opposite effect on me. I try to enjoy the journey. When Carlos Beltran took that called third strike, I turned off the light and went to sleep. But I won’t deny that being 8 rows behind home plate on a very special day was great.
