I see #Mets fans here who are upset Alonso is opting out.They want him to be loyal to the Mets. I want to be respectful, but I think those fans are wrong. The reserve clause is dead. The Mets could’ve offered Pete a longer contract. He’s now able to get what he can. I hope he gets it from the Mets.

#MetsSky, let me say in the midst of our misery: We remember when sports radio was the way we could share our thoughts w each other, and it was, and is, an unsatisfying way of doing so. I’m glad I have you all. We don’t always agree, but we are respectful as we take this roller coaster together.

This is a warning to all would-be #Mets fans. I cautioned my grandson, when he had his whole life ahead of him, about the dangers of becoming a Mets fan. His twin sister can vouch for that. From his expression, you can see that he did not take me seriously. We are all paying the price.

While I was walking in Manhattan today, an older lady in an Alonso jersey walking slowly in front of me & her husband motioned for me to pass them. I told them I didn’t mind, because of her jersey. They said they were going to tonight’s game. I’m glad they saw her guy get a key hit. #LGM
