Education is freedom.

This should be a lightbulb moment on why college has become unaffordable in the US. And why Trump tasked a pro wrestling exec with dismantling the dept of Education. And why universities have been attacked and teachers accused of indoctrinating students with leftist ideology.

With these emails, the public is interacting directly with source information. Transparency and access to information is so important to a free society. But we are seeing how poorly prepared we are to evaluate 20,000 pages of emails from a liar and criminal. This is why education matters.

We’re really in a crisis of public discernment. Media is decentralized, news is delivered by influencers on social media algorithms controlled by oligarchy, AI content is proliferating exponentially and source identification is difficult even on Google now.

The music is annoying, but I don’t think the algo specifically favors “annoying content,” it favors adding music, or doing things like posting a still image with music in reel format because what it loves most is video. It favors using the features rolled out to keep people on the platform longer.

The Instagram algorithm gives posts with music added preferential treatment. This happens a lot with the rollout of new features, sometimes the boost is just temporary. Saying it boosts engagement is not technically correct, it boosts distribution (which is very important in capturing engagement)

While I definitely agree his slip ups are increasing (and he’s generally delusional), he still functions at a pretty high level. He knows he was booed! But he’s a master of reshaping reality to his will and is incapable of self reflection, so opposition just makes him dig his heels in 😩

Since Trump pardoned him, this guy — a drug dealer, loan shark and rat — has assaulted HIS WIFE, HIS NANNY, HIS ELDERLY FATHER IN LAW and A. THREE. YEAR. OLD. !!!!!!

Running a country on eggshells isn’t sustainable. If Trump is willing to inflict suffering on most Americans (he is), we need to quit tiptoeing around him to keep the peace. If he’s willing to defy the constitution, the Supreme Court and Congress, let’s rip the bandaid off. The time to fight is now.

I think a lot of Washington is afraid to find out what will happen if a) SCOTUS makes a ruling Trump refuses to follow and/or b) SCOTUS capitulates to Trump on an indefensible issue.

Of course things are already bad but establishment politicians aren’t rushing to confront a constitutional crisis.

Especially because the SNAP decision was headed to the Supreme Court. I’m no legal expert but I do wonder if the Dems were afraid of what a Supreme Court ruling in Trump’s favor would do. SCOTUS has mostly appeased Trump thus far but without completely abandoning the illusion of independence.
