#52pubchallenge Sugar Monkey Brewery. My last one, opposite my hotel and the Mattel building as featured in the Barbie movie Busy with suits from all the nearby offices. They serve real pints here, not the 16oz US ones, but the full UK 20oz'ers. I had their IPA, and their brown ale too.

#52pubchallenge Five point Five brewery. It's a doorway on a street corner.... It can only be another brewery. El Segundo has 3 breweries which is quite a few for a small town wedged between a chemical works and LAX. I had a pint of their WCIPA. It was okay, again, not knocking my pants off.

#52PC El Segundo brewery. Classic US brew tap full of locals chatting to the bar staff (who leave me waiting as I'm not local) obvs, I still tip them though as I'm an uncomfortable Brit abroad! Drinking a pint of Stone Cold Steve Austins Broken Scull IPA. Nice but a bit thin for a 6.8%

#52pubchallenge Bald Rock. Very old pub alert! Looks lovely AND it sells Thatchers Gold.... Oh, the Holy Grail! I am a #craftbeerwanker but I cannot deny my roots. Lovely pub inside and out, plus they sell the best Guinness in Australia. Their words, not mine. $7(cheap!) schooner of da Gold.

#52pubchallenge White Bay Brewery. Back in Sydney #wharfielife visited this cliche of a brewtap post ship. Industrial estate. Picnic benches. Shiny steel tanks. Pizzas. Bob, Bob, I've got a full house!!! But it's close to the Glebe island berths and I'm enjoying my pint of canyonstone wcipa.

#52pubchallenge Wayward brewery tap. A dark cave like tap which makes a change to the normal bright, Industrial and shiny tanked ones. Good range of beer, plus they only sell 1/2 and pints, not a schooner to be seen. I had a pint of their take on a Newcastle Brown Ale, plus a couple of IPAs.

#52pubchallenge Lady Hampshire. Shanghai'd to work a ship in Sydney so visited this multi roomed wood panelled terrace pub for a jug of Philter XPA post discharge.

#52pubchallenge Crows Nest, what came first the crow or the nest? Either way, not this pub. It's been refurbished by people who never go to pubs, they think the idea is a nightclub but during the day. Beer selection 11 types of lager, so Australian. I'm on the 12 tap, Young Henry's Newtowner.

#52pubchallenge The Terminus. Look at those sexy green tiles, so shiny. I love it. old school but with #craftbeereanker taps for me. After being hit with $20+ pints in the last 2 pubs my wallet thanked their pricing of $15 for a pint of Lazy Day's 7% red IPA. Still Sydney prices though, but nicer.

#52pubchallenge Prymont Point Hotel. Times have changed around here. 15 years ago they had Stowford Press on tap,obvs I had a pint. These days, no cider and a refit and a posher interior. Gentrification! No wonder they're complaining when we discharge the odd ship at Glebe. Pint of White bay WCPL

#52pubchallenge The Quarrymans. Nice corner #craftbeerwanker pub, been bare brick reno'd which looks nice compared to some multi mil. Reno'd pubs in NSW. They're killing me with the prices though. I confidently walked up and asked for a pint of Good Hands Hey Jude wcipa. She asked for $20.50. ouch!

#52pubchallenge Hotel Sweeneys. Small CBD pub, but over 3 floors plus a rooftop bar. Craft beer galore. But like an ex-pat in Spain who only eats a full English, drinks Carling & watches Man U in the Queen's head in Benidorm I am drinking a pint of cask Theakstons old Peculiar in bloody Sydney!

#52pubchallenge The Shakespeare. Classic Sydney pub. As featured in Minder 'For a few dollars more' episode when Arthur and Ray came to Australia. Lovely tiled interior and carpet. Busy with a cricket team post match. Although no pints (Oz lightweights!) so on a schooner of Grifter Pale Ale.
