I also read tarot cards 🤷.
This is nothing (yet?) compared to last summer, or winter 2023-24, but, you know, I don't love that trendline.

I change my behavior based on the baseline risk I interpret from these numbers. I'm not battening down all the hatches yet ... but it's on my radar.

I find this particular quote staggering.

I was at a similarly elite school, about a decade earlier. I took Econ 101. Our profs wanted us to understand different economic philosophies, but the classes weren't taught by advocates or demagogues.

WTF is Harvard doing?

Hey, Los Angeles: get your flu shot if you haven't already.

This big disparity between our two sewersheds is weird, as is the crazy skyrocketing number in Southern/Eastern LA, so maybe there's something odd with the data.

If not, this is going to be a REALLY BAD flu season.

Finally it seems like Los Angeles is past its COVID peak.

Levels still high, but coming down, at last.

Los Angeles COVID levels keep faking me out. I keep thinking that they're starting to turn down ...

... and then they shoot up again.

This most recent surge in L.A. is just ... lingering around.

Previous surges felt much more definitively done five weeks after the peak.

Yeah I don’t think I’m getting my power back in 10 minutes if the work status is still “assigned.”

Got to watch a friend play a packed show at The Mint. That was awesome.

Man, good live music is something else …

Every time I’ve gone to the grocery store in the last few months there has been somebody parked like this.

It’s so weird. It’s not even just rude entitlement, it also seems like a good way to get your car dinged.

Hey folks! The union hasn't been making this ask like this.

If they're doing so, it's for a reason.

So please please please everybody show up tomorrow if you can at all. Please.

Using an image, show a movie you are sure you have watched more than ten times.

This seems like a fantastic deal for AMC (who desperately need the help), Taylor Swift will be in the black before the movie opens, and no AMPTP company makes a dime.

Wastewater numbers for S. Los Angeles:

The Northern LA data suggests we may be peaking. Maybe.

Since we don't have a reliable testing numbers, I've been using wastewater data to make decisions about what I'm comfortable doing (or not).

It's definitely mask-up time (if it ever wasn't).

Since I'm going to see her concert tonight, this feels like a good time to share the highlight of my time on Twitter:
