One thing I will say about what little time I spent in the Monster Hunter Wilds beta is that I think having your assistant ask you what your preferred style of play is and recommend a weapon based on that feels way better for new players than “here’s 16 weapons in your inventory, choose one”

High-fidelity Monster Hunter was a bad idea. This is a franchise where sickos would either meet up in person or perform networking acrobatics to play together on a 3DS, and now they can't even get a consistent framerate on a $700 PC as the environment turns to mush.
