Gonna be honest here, feels like Herbert is in for a Matthew Stafford career - a decade getting slaughtered behind a garbage O line and slinging it to third string WRs with people debating if he's good or not. Then he'll get picked up by a real contender that just needs a QB and have instant success

Happy to report there's been some great stories about how much he values work-life balance! One of the reasons the program is so good is because he's been able to retain really good coordinators - they've been courted for HC jobs elsewhere but won't take them because Cig is such a great boss

Warm shower, listen to a boring podcast with your eyes closed, pray, read the Bible. My insomnia usually comes from racing thoughts/existential dread/can't shut my brain off, so take that for what it's worth. Also Unisom if you don't have to be super alert in the morning

There's another whole conversation to be had about how there's a huge difference between using screens as a substitute for parenting and using screens in conjunction with your parenting, but I'll save that for another thread!

It's human nature, honestly. People look for the easy answers and formulaic solutions. But the fact is that there are great parents whose kids eat fast food most days and watch TV for hours, and there are horrible parents whose kids have never watched a Disney movie or eaten processed food.

Too many of my fellow parents would rather pat themselves on the back for how they've never let their kids play on a tablet or eat candy than confront their own immaturity. When their kid has angry outbursts they blame screens instead of their own inconsistent behavior, or their partner's.

...say, how you respond to your child when they make mistakes. Do you support their interests, do you keep your temper when they don't, how do you treat other people in their presence? But these things can't be quantified, and they're so much *harder* to do than feeding your kid sugar-free cereal.
