Limited saves, surprisingly great melee combat for the genre, and perhaps the BEST survival horror gunplay in recent memory. I can't recommend this game enough.

Not only that, but it also has a killer cast of voice actors who've done a great job. Not to mention all the meaty sound effects and the top notch soundtrack.

Mechanically, it nails the retro vibes perfectly. It has that nostalgic survival horror feel with cinematic fixed camera angles, resource management, and a good bit of puzzle solving.
