I spent my afternoon immersed in the newly released Taylor Swift serotonin. Cried, sang, smiled, laughed, enjoyed wholeheartedly. I was feeling some joy.
This evening I received a call that my dear friend of 21+ years took her own life. I am so very, very sad now.

A sense of humor is critical to your survival when you are suffering from chronic illness. Sure, you need food, water, meds, medical treatments, housing, and other stuff like that, but a sense of humor is what holds it all together when your illness is being a motherfucker.
