This is why the discourse of “we are being invaded” needs to be opposed. Not debated, not both-sided, not polled; opposed. Because they do mean “invaded”. It’s not rhetorical. They will treat migrants, even 20-something students, as soldiers in an imagined war and deploy military tools against them
