I'm officially back in CA after 2 1/2 years in NH. I just wasn't cut out to be a New Englander, but I leave there with a better understanding of how to use the word "wicked", a greater appreciation for all things maple, a deep love of autumn leaves, and a renewed love/hate relationship with snow.

This morning at Dept of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) HQ in DC as mandatory return to office began, this video played on loop for ~5 mins on screens throughout the building, per agency source.
Building staff couldn’t figure out how to turn it off so sent people to every floor to unplug TVs.

I keep noticing that’s how it feels. It’s like watching Jan 6 happen, the same fear and dread, except it’s in slow motion, lasting for days and days. Minus the pepper spray, and minus the knowledge that anyone who can do anything about it actually cares to try. No one is coming to save us.
