In some ways, this feels like how most mainline traditions are floundering to have their unique voices heard, so now anti-LGBTQ+ pro-fascism Southern Baptist is the default position of what most Americans think of when they hear “Christian.”

Maybe I am being overly cynical, and the NRSVue will start catching on now that the NRSV is non-publishable since June of this year. It's just that we're swamped with bad translations with overly Calvinist Evangelical bents, and the one non-translation to do that is floundering.

The ESV has completely taken over as the translation of choice in "conservative evangelical" circles, and I for the life of me do not know what the Council of Churches was thinking when they allowed them to license out the RSV to revise it.
