I think Tolkien created Tom Bombadil to confuse and confound protestants into ignoring he made a very pagan very catholic story.

In 1999 Nuages Gallery in Milan published three illustrated editions of Dante’s Inferno, Purgatorio, and Paradisio. These pieces here drawn by famed French fantasy and scifi artist Mœbius who was in charge of doing Paradisio. What draws me into these is the simple yet gorgeous coloring he does here.

I finally got myself a copy of the New Cambridge Paragraph Bible. It is a revision of the KJV edited by David Norton, and referred to by him as a translator’s editor. His goal was to peel back 400 years of random revisions to the text and try to get it back to the translators’ original text.

Study time, I am writing through the lectionary starting in Advent. Year A starts this fall, so it seemed an opportune time to start. (First Sunday of Advent is already in the bag; I like to write ahead.)

I'm attempting to caramelize onions. I'm making French onion soup for the first time, and I have never nailed caramelizing onions, but third time’s a charm.
