Whenever people complain about the number of folks relying on food stamps, it is worth reminding them that SNAP is, by too large of a degree, a subsidy for corporations that refuse to pay a living wage and their political allies who reject public policy prescriptions to reduce income inequality.

I don't always like or agree with Dem candidates but I am blue all the way. The party is changing...because that is the nature of things. They evolve and morph. The party is big enough for centrists, progressives and small c conservatives. Only unity will save democracy.

On Thursday, almost 30 Standing Together activists, along with Rabbis for Human Rights, were in the West Bank to assist Palestinians in the olive harvest. Settlers showed up too, throwing stones and threatening Palestinians. This is part of the daily reality of the occupation. (1/3)

This is not a simple budget increase. It is an explosion - making ICE bigger than the FBI, US Bureau of Prisons, DEA, & others combined.

Reporters: stop using the deferential term "detaining" when talking about ICE goons' abduction of innocent people from US streets. You proper term would indeed by "abduction", but if you want to pretend neutrality you could use "capture", which at least says nothing about the captors' motives.
