Two cats lay the same way on their cat sofas. My Tabby cat, Atlas (background white couch) and his brother Pallas (foreground gray couch) are twinning. I sneak. I sneak. The lengths I go to to make sure my boys are comfortable.

Dug through boxes on Friday night as La Niña began & temperatures dropped. I found the heating pad I had for my previous geriatric cats.

I put it atop Atlas' Felt Cat Bungalow. Today, he found it. He's baking now.

Found a pic of my Jamaican great-grandmother (my mom's dads mom).

She met a blond blue eyed Irishman who was immigrating to the US in about 1880. The Blondy proposed & they married aboard the ship to US.

US was not cool w/ their union so they went back to Ireland. They cameback to US aft 5yrs

One day a transatlantic ship headed to the US docked and a nice looking Irish man (John) got off the ship. John met Mary, like her, and asked her to marry him and settle in the US. They tried living in the US but were driven out by racists and laws outlawing their marriage. They left the US and moved back to North Ireland for a few years. Somewhere during that time my mom's dad was born. My great-grandparents moved back to the US. They settled in Lexington Kentucky and opened a mercantile that served the Black & non-white community there.

Last Pat I bought was somw special Holiday eye palette. Got it & was not impressed.

Natasha...Ive got 3 of her eye palettes. Some nice. So complementary on my skin then I look at her highlighters & lipsticks and just- yeah clearly not for my skintone. But CircoLoco won my ❤️ that Electrick blue

Due to an intense workplace injury my hair turned silver/grey rapidly starting at about 35y.

I liked it. My dad's mom had platinum/silver hair since her 30s. I loved her hair coloras a kid.

Well that's my haircolor now. Ppl pay a lot to get this color. I get asked how much 🕰&$ it cost to bleach it
After getting seriously injured at work, my haircolor rapidly changed from dark brown to silver/grey. This photo of me is from about 6 months after the injury. My natural color was still lingering at the ends of my hair. I had a regular hairstylist/colorists. When my hair flipped to silver/grey it happened fast but the first month only the front of my hair turned silver/grey the back stayed brown then boom it changed. My hair now 2024/25. All silver/grey/white. Its actually just shoulder length again now because my hair is suddenly decided to be super curly when air dried. So my stylist cut it wet to give me the option of straight or curly with a good shape. I love my silver/grey/white hair. The only thing I dont like it the texture and "performance" of this color hair is not the same as when it was dark brown. By performance, I mean styling performance. l when I flat iron my hair, it gets super flat and straight with absolutely no body to it. Like Jan Brady limp straight hair. If I curled my hair, it used to stay/hold a curl from curling iron or roller for a week. Now it holds a curl for a day and if I want the curl back I have to use rollers. I have no desire to dye my hair back to dark brown or any other color. I stopped wearing braids because if the braider used any colored synthetic hair the dye in the synthetic hair transfers out and stains my hair. The dye used to dye synthetic hair isnt hair dye its industrial/ furniture dye and chemicals that are deemed safe to remove hair dye wont remove industrial furniture dye. Would I ever dye my hair? For a $5 million tax-free sure.

As a kid, when I got my 1st set of acrylic paints, I realized my skin color was close to Raw Umber just w/ increased tint.
It was then but only because I suffered from a long-term bout of ID anemia.

W/o anemia its Panatone 18-1238-TCX Rustic Brown w/ an increased tint, hue red/orange.

Totally forgot about Fall Back last night until the moment my head & back hit the pillow- bang! Reset the clocks.

Yes, clocks.

I have actual analong clocks in my home. 4 of them. Why?
Power outages. Natural disaster. Foreign invaders destroying the power grid.
Change the batteries, reset the time
The big wall clock in my living room. People walk in and go, "Wow. You have a wall clock (dripping in sarcasm)." At some point, they realize its easier to glance up and see the time compared to pulling out their phone and looking rude. Yeah, I also wear a watch. Wearing a watch is actually part of my required uniform for work. We are violating our MOS & workplace regs/rqmnts if we fail to wear a watch on duty. Smartphones are not acceptable to time telling at my job. Its deemed better and more acceptable for us to glance at our wrists over fumbling in a pocket for a stealable phone. Kitchen clock even though the appliances have clocks. Opening the fridge for the time is silly. Bathroom clock, which, along with my bedroom clock, is set 20 minutes ahead. I set it ahead so that I don't lollygag. I can lose time in the bathroom just staring in the mirror trying to perfect my eyebrows, looking at minor blemishes and panicking. The final clock. The clock that tells me I've been playing solitaire on my phone for far longer than than I should have. My red metal bedroom clock. The one the cats stare at the most. I really need to get some color on the living room & bedroom walls. Hopefully, in January.

Why does this combo, Tabby & Black cat, seem to be the standard issue pairing that the CDS gives to folks?

My two are littermate brothers. They also a Tabby sister too which my sister has along with...a Black cat.

Standard issue pairing of cats - a Tabby & Black Cat. So many photos of people's cat family show that they have a Tabby & a Black cat together. The Cat Distribution System seems to match these two furs together regularly. My two boys- top of the stairs is Black cat Pallas. On the floor is Tabby cat Atlas.

Atlas always looks like he's jealous of Pallas when Pallas is sleeping.

He isnt jealous. He's planning their day of zoomies, sleeping, eating & watching other animals on TV.

My morning routine always includes locating Atlas on the bed & seeing which words trigger him to open his eyes.
My other favorite morning view. My Tabby cat Atlas loafing & staring at his brother while he sleeps comfortably on the pillow beside me. Atlas prefers to sleep on my legs faces the door. His favorite position is not the loaf but his extended Sphinx pose or twisted dead cat pose. The Youtube channel Feline Fanatics assures me that my boys love me & trust me a lot because of where & how they sleep. We sleep as a small loving Pride.

One of my favorite morning views in the morning. Pally is his own heater, I just supply a soft, safe place for him to sleep.

I woke up at 0400 cause the temperature in my bedroom had dropped to 52°. So fucking cold. Compelled myself to shut the window b4 I froze to death. My cats were unbothered.

Since my back surgery & release from the hospital, I've had regular intensive CPT.

Cat Physical Therapy.

Day or night, my CPTs are on the job. Last night, I realized that while laying on my side for CPT, my left leg stopping its constant vibrating.
CPT had improved nerve issues.

Our building's fire alarm system went off for over 20 minutes. At least 10 of those minutes were with no response for the fire station 1/2 a block away. Some neighbors walked down to the fire house to ask them to check out our building.

Crazy.

My sister is back to care for me while I recover from back surgery.

She's back & my living is gone. She bought a queen size air bed.

We roll in luxury. I am grateful she's back, I just wish I could feel my left leg again.

Day 8 post-back major surgery- I still cant feel my legs but there is more twitching & spasming. Hopefully, this means the nerves are coming back online.

I walked a bit w/o the walker & was a bit unsteady but I did it.

Nurse Cat Pallas is currently giving me leg PT. Nurse Cat Atlas has night duty
