I mean. His explanation from just the movies made sense. Movie Faramir is trying so hard to earn his dad’s approval that he puts Frodo and the Ring at risk. ITS JUST THE OPPOSITE OF WHO FARAMIR IS AND WHAT HE ACTUALLY DOES.
