the main point of the icalendar-rs api was to have a neat builder pattern to assemble the calendar. the parser was added later. If you still fill like contributing to that lib, I have some sturdy toes. At least I'd be curious if we could accommodate your ideas without too much of breakage.

I'm not happy with the allocations either. it's a "scratch-my-own-itch" library that I continued because I had squatted the name.
