Dr. Richardson, I have a question. In times past, when an authoritarian leader was rising in power, were there victories from the courts or legislature, or was the consolidation of power immediate? Wondering if the wins we are seeing from the courts should give us optimism?

Firmly in the "Leave No Trace" camp. During a visit to Acadia last year, I noticed a lot of signage regarding Cairns and appreciated that there were very few on the trails!

When we don't acknowledge the challenges this posed to kids, we lose credibility in our arguments.

Agreed. And one thing I will say is that the evidence shows that closing schools, while necessary (at least until a vaccine was universally available), had a negative impact on kids in terms of their learning and mental health (there are exceptions, of course).
