Today's fit. I got out of my comfort zone with a crop shirt. I'm very self conscious about my B shaped stomach and usually prefer longer/baggier shirts that cover my waist and hips. I've gained a lot of weight lately and am having issues feeling connected to my body now.

There's some dangerous storms headed here, but he somehow connected it to his inability to be trusted more than a wild animal.

Set up a new station for toddler. He's been so into coloring lately and it's been a pain to get stuff out for him. Now he has access to a box of crayons and a few color pages at a time, and a visual reminder of the rules with my lovely skillful drawings that totally don't look done by a 1st grader.
The image shows a green fabric bin or container labeled "ART BOX" in colorful, childlike handwriting. Attached to the front of the bin is a handmade sign with rules for the art box. The rules are: 1) "Crayons color on paper!" with illustrations showing what is acceptable (a drawing on paper with a green checkmark) and what is not acceptable (what appears to be coloring on a book with a red X). 2) "Clean up!" with some simple drawings that appear to show proper cleanup procedures. Inside the art box, you can see papers with children's drawings, including what looks like blue scribbles or doodles. The bin is sitting on what appears to be a wooden surface, and in the background, you can see parts of a home interior with some storage containers and bookshelves.

My teen did a thing this week. He didn't get Superior Delegate like he was aiming for, but this is still incredibly impressive to me.

Currently reading A People's Future of the United States, a book of short stories of speculative fiction that would have felt dystopian a couple decades ago, but hits perilously close to the present. It's got some amazing authors, and really just feels like one of those important reads.

This is something I want to see more people do. Make a page like this. Keep a record of those small wins. You know, like when you went to the grocery store when you didn't feel like it. Made a phone call. Got through a hard day. Dealt with a Karen.

It really helps to see it all add up.

So I'm not usually one for military/war based historical fiction. But I read this and finally understood why it's been so highly rated. It was the #1 borrow last year from my library. I was only half through and I knew I'd be rating it 5 stars.

I currently have 5 journals going. A venting journal, a positivity journal (shown here), a tarot journal, a bullet journal, and a daily planner/reading tracker.

This is what self care looks like for me. I am substantially happier when I make time for myself to do this.
