Began watching Terrence Malick-films (I'd never seen any previously), and after Days of Heaven and The Tree of Life I knew that his movies are my jam, so I just started buying them. Picked up this Criterion-release yesterday, and holy moly it's one of the most beautiful Blu ray-releases ever.

Began watching Terrence Malick-films (I'd never seen any previously), and after Days of Heaven and The Tree of Life I knew that his movies are my jam, so I just started buying them. Picked up this Criterion-release yesterday, and holy moly it's one of the most beautiful Blu ray-releases ever.

I only watched the original adaptation at the start of Spooktober, and I still can't get over this shot. I love the way she held her hands, I wonder if that was direction from DePalma or all Sissy Spacek?

I found her 2018 @empiremagazine.bsky.social piece on it. I sometimes despair about the space owning every issue since May 2005 in print takes, but every single one always has so much to reread. This one also had an interview about Midnight Run with the screenwriter for christ's sake.

Happy 50th birthday to the scariest vampire-novel I've ever read. The original cover is one of my favorites. I found an online store selling it as a poster, but it cost too damn much to buy.

Cat patio is up. Still needs a cat door, so we took away the whole window for the two idiots to test it out. Furniture still unfinished for the most part, but the cats don't seem to complain.

@a24movies.bsky.social 4K Blu ray-release of Warfare is pretty damn cool. I understand the criticism towards the film's lack of opinion (but both directors have also been pretty clear it's not an accident, it's a how movie, instead of a why), but it's amazing film making by all departments involved.

Here's my Garland-collection at the moment, will get Warfare on 4K too, just not in any hurry since I saw it twice in theatres. That sound design just won't be the same at home, even in our 7 speaker home theatre.

France has some cool concert venues. There's the Arena of Nîmes where gladiators battled during Roman times, Rammstein and Metallica have both filmed concerts there. Today I found out about Théâtre Jean-Deschamps in Carcassonne. Here's Alanis Morrissette performing there this week.
