Our data collectively support a model according to which VPS13C acts upstream of OSBP/ORP lipid transport proteins to orchestrate bulk lipid transport in synchrony with lysosomal damage and repair, thereby maintaining lysosome integrity

Our data collectively support a model according to which VPS13C acts upstream of OSBP/ORP lipid transport proteins to orchestrate bulk lipid transport in synchrony with lysosomal damage and repair, thereby maintaining lysosome integrity
As ER-lysosome contact sites bridged by VPS13C have a gap width that cannot be resolved by light microscopy, we used a ratiometric approach to simultaneously trace fluorescence levels of ER-derived lipids & ER membrane proteins on the surface of damaged lysosomes containing pHrodo-labeled microbeads
