Pretty true but I have trouble with sunk cost fallacy and feeling the need to complete

It might be a bit derivative and predictable but that doesn’t take away from its sheer coolness. The film is just beautiful at points and the cgi xenomorphs will always terrify me. The characters can feel a little lacking but David Jonsson is standout. High 7.

The story is enough to compel, with interesting politics and dialogue this never feels like a bore. Gael Bernal gives a real human performance in this and makes the character of Rene sympathetic and heartfelt. It feels somewhat relevant to topics today even though it covers old events. High 8.

For something so acclaimed I was surprised how basic it felt. A very quiet film it deals with concepts of nostalgia and looking at what could have been. I was excepting a little more doubt or tension but was left underwhelmed. Mid 6.

Might be just because I knew the twist but it feels middling in all aspects it tries to be. Not scary for a horror, not funny in its comedy, the saving graces are the sometimes cool sci-fi elements and the decent action. It was hard to find any character I enjoyed in this film. Mid 5.
