#10 Alien: Romulus

It might be a bit derivative and predictable but that doesn’t take away from its sheer coolness. The film is just beautiful at points and the cgi xenomorphs will always terrify me. The characters can feel a little lacking but David Jonsson is standout. High 7.

The story is enough to compel, with interesting politics and dialogue this never feels like a bore. Gael Bernal gives a real human performance in this and makes the character of Rene sympathetic and heartfelt. It feels somewhat relevant to topics today even though it covers old events. High 8.

#8 Past Lives

For something so acclaimed I was surprised how basic it felt. A very quiet film it deals with concepts of nostalgia and looking at what could have been. I was excepting a little more doubt or tension but was left underwhelmed. Mid 6.

#7 Companion

Might be just because I knew the twist but it feels middling in all aspects it tries to be. Not scary for a horror, not funny in its comedy, the saving graces are the sometimes cool sci-fi elements and the decent action. It was hard to find any character I enjoyed in this film. Mid 5.

#6 Ghost World

Unfiltered cynicism in the world often leads to the dislike of many. Ghost World deals with feelings of being disconnected from everyone and unwilling to conform to the worlds normality. This movie is personal to me in many ways and is near flawless in depicting youth. Light 9.

#5 I,Robot

I,Robot while lacking in characterization brings interesting concepts and ideas relating to robotics and is decent enough in its storytelling to warrant a read. My rating is a High 6

A beautiful tale that traverses the journey of an adolescent truly becoming comfortable of themselves in the world.

Picked up absolute martian manhunter #1 in the Marcos Martín cover. Debated between this and the Daniel Warren Johnson cover but I felt some aspects of that cover took me out of the book and I didn’t appreciate.

Lol r/privacy has got to be filled with some of the cheapest people ever. Spotify does offer a good price for their service and does so by fucking artists. If your going to pirate fine but don’t act like your this higher-tier person because you don’t want to pay a fair price for art.
