And of course “raises” that didn’t keep up with the cost of living. I could keep going. But yeah, I’m afraid due to my poor credit we won’t be able to get a HELOC, and if that happens, I have *no idea* how we’re going to make things work. It will be a huge mess.

The last five years of my life have been nothing but expenses—my hours were reduced at the beginning of COVID, last semester to get my BA was out of pocket ($$$), mom died and related costs added up in so many ways, a breakup and 1000-mile move, rent hike, bills much higher than expected…

Right now we’re about out of funds and would like to apply for a HELOC to pay for a couple more months of assisted living and some work on the house. I’m worried I’ll ruin our chances; my sister has immaculate credit but mine is pretty crappy.
