Erasure of Wind in the Willows. The poem reads:
Wayfarers
The others always
depart
we miss them
the land
the air
the waterside
a stream
a field
the great sea of
love

Everyone else is doing their awards nomination posts, so I guess I should do mine before I forget what I even wrote this year... 😅

Poetry has been a big deal for me, so considering any of my @seattlein2025.org poems for a Rhysling, or Con-Verse for a Best Related Work Hugo, would rock my world!

Reminder that you are capable of leveling up as a writer. I get authors all the time who make huge improvements on their work. It's a delight as an editor when one of my authors absolutely nails a revision.

It may seem hard and a struggle but you can improve.

Whenever I get sort of disillusioned with the world of small press publishing, my volunteers do something absolutely magical and helpful, and I just sit here teary-eyed at the love for books that the @interstellarflight.bsky.social community has.

My main contract gig is being cut, and my family responsibilities are less demanding than a few years ago. So please get in touch if you know of writing/editing/research/workshop positions, any hours, ideally remote or Ottawa. Extra points for good causes. I know it's rough out there for everyone.

To paraphrase Umberto Eco: treat your library like a medicine cabinet. Your stack of unreadable should be broad and diverse so that it always has the exact book you need for the moment.

My unread book pile is where I hoard all my treasures. The books I've kept but not yet read are promises to myself so the longer I hold a book the better I'm expecting it to be. A treat for when I really need it. I've whittled it down to 4 and they're books I'll most likely keep.
