Dear Canada-
Please accept our deepest apologies from all decent Americans embarrassed by the obnoxious trolling from our man-baby-in-chief who is lacking in both intelligence & any impulse-control whatsoever.

This is why you fight these cowards.

The moment you stand up to them, they crumble.

Homan has nothing. The Fourth Amendment is clear and I am well within my duties to educate people of their rights.

He can threaten me with jail and call names all he wants. He’s got nothing else.
a stammering Tom Homan on AOC: "She's the dumbest congresswoman ever elected to Congress."

Turning away from empathy and curiosity makes the world into a grim, thin place populated by strangers, objects, and adversaries.
It's akin to demanding the biggest seat in the theater, even though it doesn't face the stage. It's trading a window for a mirror. It's a theft from others and the self.

I went to post about the National Japanese American Memorial in D.C., which is beautiful but usually missed by tourists. It is a deeply staggering admission of guilt and a warning to future Americans. I went to link to the inscriptions and-

Well, they took the site down. www.nps.gov/places/japan...

It seems likely their overreach is going to produce even bigger backlash soon. What happens to auto companies and auto workers and their unions when the industry is crashed by the stupidest delusions about economics maybe ever in the federal government? Or rather what do they do?
Welp. Turns out electing an unstable maniac is a bad idea after all.

It is Friday afternoon of a wild, wild week. And yet for me a reassuring one. My greatest fear was not of what they would do. It's that we would let them. And I'm seeing a lot of beautiful intransigence. From federal workers. From people all over the country obstructing ICE....

Important thread on condition of MSM reporting. Read in its entirety...

"I think many political reporters were hoping that if they just stick to their beat, don't rock the boat, don't call out the bullshit happening around them, someone else would step up and fix it. All of us are complicit."
I had a convo with a colleague right before Thanksgiving about The Washington Post. They were furious that people were unsubscribing.

"This will only hurt reporters, not Bezos."

When I asked them if maybe readers aren't trying to hurt Bezos but simply no longer trust WaPo, they look scandalized.

A scholar says the the American Historical Association's overwhelming support of a resolution condemning the scholasticide perpetrated by the Israel in Gaza — that is, the destruction of the conditions for schooling in Gaza — would not be controversial if it were about anywhere other than Palestine.

The Bregenz Festival is famous for staging some of the most mind-blowing spectacles.

Verdi’s opera, “A Masked Ball,” featured a stage that looked like a giant book being opened by a skeleton. The show took place in 1999 on Lake Constance in Bregenz, Austria. It astounds me every time I see it!
