Independent researcher. Creating a holistic view of the #Neolithic Temple Period in Malta. And IT nerd developing an #AI capable of telling a multimedia story about it.
Certainly a visit is worth it. You'll be surprised what the neolithic people build here in Malta: somewhere between 50 and 100 (depending on how you count) megalithic structures on two tiny islands. Let me know when you plan to come and I'll try to show you around a bit for these sites.

Yes. It is Globigerina limestone (Aquitanian to Langhian - Miovene). Yellow and relatively soft. Most (if not all) of the megalithic buildings have some decorated like this.

Roofing: Should be slightly nuanced. There is quite a discussion about this aspect and opinions differ. Probably only parts were roofed for at least some of them. At Mnajdra for example archaeoastronomy indicates that the central passage was probably not roofed.

I hope you enjoyed these astonishing buildings.
They still intrigue me after nine years of studying this society. They have so many aspects that hardly got any scientific attention.
Those people were far more advanced than what usually pops up in our minds when we think about prehistory.

If you want we can meet at the site and it will be a pleasure to show you around.

If you want to know the part of the story for the sunrises at Mnajdra that is not in the official discourse (yet), you can read my papers about it:

Challenge: Write an essay describing ALL the errors in the description and image. But in less than 10K words.

I doubt that is feasible. 😂

is a private project without any sponsors or research funding.
As far as I know there is a grey legislation area on the usage of information contained in non-public articles and until things become more clear, I'll invest my time on my research for this project and not on the AI-based output of it.

non-public papers. Unfortunately a lot of valuable material is still contained in articles in paid journals and books. From a budget point of view there is no way I can acquire the license to use such content in way it was intended as the "A holistic approach to the Temple Period Society" ...🧵3/4

AI models with my own knowledge extraction results (knowledge network) using #NLP techniques. This is quite similar to human work when we read articles and include reference to sources for statements in our papers, only aided by software.

"Navigating by the stars" for the Temple Period's trips to the South is a no go imo and illustrates a lack of interdisciplinary knowledge.

I asked the authors to react on this about 6 weeks ago without any reply.
