The actual opposite of what you said is true. The constitution says only natural born citizens can be president. Says nothing about where they were born.

I agree it’s a heartbreaking scene, but feel it’s unfair to blame Arthur when Merlin is the one who put him in that position. Arthur did everything he could to discourage her feelings. At least as I remember it, haven’t seen the movie for a few years.

How so? Cruz was born in Canada to a US citizen parent, giving him citizenship at birth. The constitution doesn’t define “natural born citizen,” but most experts I’ve read agreed that it means someone who was a citizen from birth.
