there is the advantage of less eye strain with e-readers... i think it does have some merit if u already read a lot on ur phone and u have failing eyesight😭 but i just really like the tactile experience of paper books more

my fear isnt based on whether my art is good enough for a high price point, its just from my awareness of how bad the economy is
anyways if nobody comms me after the discount ends, more time for me to work on my personal projects lel, i miss working on personal stuff in my spare time...

idk what it is about ppl who r so icky about artists who want good money for what they do, even if they were 'money chasers'
they wouldnt be able to make art at all if they didnt have it in them before all that money 😒 i only go eww if they show blatant disregard for the spirit of it

ill b fr ask any artist out there pro or not if they could afford to draw for fun only and still get paid enough to live off it from whatever fun thing they draw, how many would say yes? a lot actually. not all ofc. but a lot LMAO

living means you must be able to afford eating, sleeping in a warm home, dressing yourself for the weather, paying the bills
i make good art and i want to make good money with it because good art and living well are not exclusive to each other ok TEDtalk done

its all bs, no man is an island, u want to make things and draw and write BECAUSE it connects you to the world around you, physically and emotionally

putting more time into art, even if its to the detriment of possibly working a different job that could pay the bills easier
ive struggled long enough with how i wanted to draw 'for my own expression and satisfaction only' and worried too much about money marring its 'purity'

i understand the notion of doing art purely for the experience of nourishing ur own or others souls, but as long as we need money to live, not even art can be separated from how much one can earn from it if they choose to make it a profession
there is no shame in wanting to be able to afford

its like foreign concept for some people that net wins for the art community benefits us all, dont turn ur noses up to anyone who is simply doing their best, be it for money, passion or both

if you don't consider work made for free or not for profit as worthwhile because it's "devaluing the space" for more "serious" career artists, i don't know what to say to you. that is a completely irresponsible position to have in this day and age and throws a ton of great art under the bus
