Alchemical gigolo <3
I love me some remakes and while me saying heroquest is peak gaming in 2025 might be a slight exaggeration it's still a good game IMO. There are some tedious things, mostly the movement and searching for stuff. The magician and elf having more options of what to do than the barb and dwarf and...

Astronomer: This is impossible.
Matt Colville: Excellent.

I watched the latest superman, I liked it buuut I feel that the people making the movies are tantalizingly close to getting the thing that makes superman good. What is it that makes superman good then? How does an unbeatable guy handle something that can't be super strenghted away...

It's called failure for some reason in many PBTA games but it's not necessarily failure, it's within the MC's and players purview to describe a "failed" roll where the players succeeds but something bad happens. The rolls in PBTA are not task resolution they are does something interesting happen..
Sorry I just think the bell curve of 2d6 means that failure on 7- moves characters out of the zone of expected competence and into the zone of "incompetent at risk assessment". But I also fully place the blame for "50/50 is an average difficulty outside of a fistfight" squarely at the feet of WOTC.

Forget the promise of progress and understanding, for there is no peace among the stars, only an eternity of carnage and slaughter and the laughter of thirsting gods. :'(

This near universal shadowban on self tagged nsfw games is, without exaggeration, an attack on all forms of art and self-expression.

With the threat of deletion seemingly imminent, livelihoods are at stake. This is an existential threat to the indie rpg industry.

Why do people call computer games(with stats that go up) RPGs and roleplaying games TTRPGs.
Surely roleplaying games came first so should be called RPGs and computer games should be called CRPG(Computer RPG).
Table Top in TTRPG doesn't make sense to either. You don't require a table top to play RPGs.
