This work by Turner at MFA Boston, depicts a sinking slave ship. It is violent, horrifying, beautifully painted, and as moving as any piece in the museum. The use of yellow into orange and darker reds, the hellish glow. I’m still shook by this, so emotional.

Spent the day at MFA Boston. One of my favorites is Odysseus and Polyphemus by Bocklin. Anyone else rotting for the cycloptic giant in this work?
