Saw some people suggesting it just turned into a bog standard zombie movie by the end but I disagree. I think it could've explored some of its high concept more but that clearly wasn't the point. Had one of the best diagetic jump scares I've ever seen.

I think between GenZ/GenAlpha's willingness to listen through ads and their trend towards listening only to specific singles I think they're just encountering less of it but also don't really care.

We don't have to silence negative critique or reviews writ large. We just have to appreciate that negativity lists like that are not the same and should not be held to the same standards of respect or integrity. At least in public spaces.

Positive year end lists are a way for people to shout out works they enjoyed without having to write essays about each one, and are for readers who already trust the authors.
End of year Hate Lists cannot be seen as anything but public bad faith pillorying.

I think this is also super important in recognizing how many ace people engage in sexual fanfic/fanart, who may or may not themselves masturbate or engage in sex.
