Rebels was better than Andor.
Seven more weeks to redact, destroy, bribe, threaten and break down the small amount of Republican support for releasing the files.

Fox made Trump, supported him, amplified his lies and treasons, buried his scandals and crimes, saw for themselves how unfit he was to lead, doubled down in 2020 and 2024... and now that the Trump train is off the rails they're going to pretend to be an objective critic.

Everybody knows drinking isn't healthy but what these stories never include is the fact that some of the benefits of moderate drinking may offset the risks - lower stress, having good friends to socialize with, or the things we might do to justify our pints - like running up mountains.

I wonder if the threat of getting rid of the filibuster was the breaking point, there's literally nothing stopping Trump from doing that. If that happened, the only check and balance that's left - even if it's only to delay legislation and get the people paying attention - would be gone.

And America still hates Cuba. Castro has been dead 9 years.

Time for an emergency conference with the Baileys. What do they think of all this?

For a long time they wouldn't let Vegas have professional sports teams because of concerns about rigging related to its sports betting operations. My guess is that this is the tip of the iceberg and a lot of friends and relatives of players and refs are going to win big. People will stop trusting.

Make sure you note that the Republicans themselves may scuttle the deal as a way to avoid seating a Democratic Congresswoman who would vote to release the Epstein Files. They'll drag this out until their own by-election in Tennessee gives them the means to vote it down.
November 10, 2025 at 7:49 PM
You can get that same revelation just looking at yourself. Why would a supreme deity put my eyes so close together or give me that one rogue eyebrow hair? What was His plan there?

Those tankers zipping around like maniacs!
November 10, 2025 at 3:14 PM
I actually see a lot of Republicans suddenly switching votes on releasing the files if they are going to lose the vote anyway.
November 10, 2025 at 1:40 AM
There is an upside - Congress will reconvene, a Dem will be sworn in, and for a brief window there is a chance to get the Epstein Files released. If Johsnon gets in the way then it's because he's protecting Trump - his cover story/pretext will be gone.

Heavy trucks pay taxes on fuel though? And while 3% isn't a lot, in Vancouver and other cities it's closer to 20 percent new EVs. That's a lot of missing taxes.
November 9, 2025 at 10:33 PM
If Johnson finds another way to keep Congress from voting, the GOP will lose support because then people will 100% know why - there's no convenient pretext or plausible deniability. The Republicans will also own skyrocketing insurance costs.
November 9, 2025 at 10:31 PM
This is actually a good decision. Johnson will have to reconvene Congress and swear in a new Democrat, and there will be a vote at last to release the Epstein files. That will have a huge impact on ACA discussions and make it harder to side with Trump.
November 9, 2025 at 10:31 PM
We use the taxes on gasoline to fund transit and fix roads, but there's no easy way to charge EV owners for their share - and they do owe a share, EVs are heavy compared to most vehicles. A Tesla Y weighs the same as a basic F-150.

The fear is genuine though, and some far-left ideas - UBI, stopping oil and gas extraction completely - would have huge impacts on our standard of living. Our system, though imperfect, is working for a lot of people right now.

They've utterly devalued truth, facts, history, science, medicine, research, news, data, polls, the census, economics, accounting, weather forecasting, and any kind of objective, non-partisan information. Reality itself is distorted because of this shit.
November 7, 2025 at 7:27 PM
Trump lies about everything, obviously and unashamedly. "My numbers are through the roof!" when they're not by any reliable measure. "The economy has never been this strong," when data they can't suppress shows the opposite. And yet his followers, even those who know better, continue to follow him.
November 7, 2025 at 7:27 PM
Take an issue like climate change. Liberals believe in the science and were actually in favour of the carbon tax according to polls, but also know how much the oil and gas industry contributes to the economy. So they're in favour of gradually phasing it out vs. stopping it immediately.
November 7, 2025 at 6:18 PM
There's a reason people vote Liberal over NDP, and it's because most liberals are centrist - mostly progressive on social issues, but a little bit conservative when it comes to the economy. They care about people, but also want realistic, pragmatic fiscal policy.

The fact that they're being so reckless does suggest that they have other reasons for backing Musk, and likely know something we don't - e.g. Trump making Tesla a military supplier or buying a million robots or something like that. It's not self-driving taxis.
November 7, 2025 at 5:47 PM
There's probably something to that. The shareholders that voted to give Musk this insane compensation package include the managers of leading funds like Black Rock, the heads of pension plans, etc., it's not all rank-and-file retail investors.
November 7, 2025 at 5:47 PM
This whole thing is insane. The company is already seriously overvalued with share price-to-earnings ratio of 318:1. That's okay for a startup, but for an established company that's crazy. Nvidia is only 57.8. Alphabet is 27.37. Apple is 36. GM is 7. How does overpaying the CEO add value?
