It is much worse at #NIH than is being conveyed.
I’m an NCI funded researcher and the folks I know in the agency tell me it is so much worse than is being reported.

Even worse young professors are leaving academia because they don’t see a future in which they will get tenure that is usually determined based on NIH funding
