Which means that you never truly cared about helping others, it was only about protecting your peace and making sure that you and your kids succeed.

while having the arrogance to think that because you are now dealing with a "tyrannical" that you know more than the minority who has dealt with this "tyranny" long before you, then you are no better than the people that you are now critical of.

So when you unfriend me because you don't like that I'm calling you out for benefiting from a system that gives you (and your kids) more opportunity and grace, than it does my kids and only complaining about it now because it's finally affecting you

4 decades later and I'm still seeing and hearing the same ignorance that I had to deal with and that my Mother had to deal with and my grandparents had to deal with and so forth.
May 9, 2025 at 2:24 PM
And that's what made sense.
Seeing the same things I went through as a kid was being repeated and done to both my kids.

You are thirty by now and nothing you have done has helped to escape the trap. But what is worse than that, is that nothing you have done, and as far as you can tell, nothing you can do, will save your son or your daughter from meeting the same disaster and not impossibly coming to the same end."

the millions of details, twenty four hours of every day, which spell out to you that you are a worthless human being. It is not that. It’s by that time that you’ve begun to see it happening, in your daughter or your son, or your niece or your nephew.

" By the time you are thirty, you have been through a certain kind of mill. And the most serious effect of the mill you’ve been through is, again, not the catalog of disaster, the policemen, the taxi drivers, the waiters, the landlady, the landlord, the banks, the insurance companies,

It didn't make sense in the beginning as to why I was always so "angry" despite years of controlling my emotions. And it finally made sense when I was listening to a 1965 debate between James Baldwin and William F. Buckley.
Baldwin said the following:

Well to clarify this change wasn't sudden. This was 5 years in the making. Instead of being completely distracted by the things we are told to focus on I focused on something that is more important.
My kids, who now are adults and have to deal with this world.

it finally threatens your safety, you should have listened to those who have suffered under that same system.
But that still doesn't answer the question "why the sudden change in personality?"
May 9, 2025 at 2:21 PM
It's easier to hide from the realities that affect friends and family, than it is to listen and fight for them.
And maybe instead of relying on the system that affords you that luxury, while at the same time only bemoaning the system when

So much that I know that there have been those who have removed me from these socials as a friend, which if they truly understood my perspective they would not rely on their own desire to hide from the reality of this world.

I've become more "radicalized" on my social media pages, calling out people regardless of relationship. Going so far as to even "argue" (a term I use loosely) with people who in the past have shared a lot of things in common when it comes to social, religious, and political issues.

people right. They are not afraid of the ideal of Socialism or Communism and living through the last almost 5 decades I can see why they think that way

Happiness and freedoms tell others to move to if they think they are not being treated fairly. We have become example of what not to be instead of the other way around. Think about it, the youth of today are so disillusioned with the country that they look at China as a country that treats it's

We are not happy and we are not free and yet we just accept that this is ok because 40 years ago we were. Now I've been fortunate to go to other countries when I was a young man (thanks United States Navy) and I wish this was hyperbole but we are now the country that other places with better

And here we are in 2025 with the record low of 24th with Trump in full mad king mode. Fun fact the United States now ranks 115th on the Freedom index....let that sink in...the Country that likes to say "Land of the Free and the Home of the Brave" is now ranked new the bottom of freedom

And then the bottom fell out in 2024 it drop to a (then) record low of 23. Inflation and the return of Trump to politics with a new voraciousness and viciousness screaming doom and gloom revitalized his followers who spread their nastiness to the country
