Justin Ling: In Venezuela, Trump’s Donroe Doctrine is now in action. Canada can’t sit on its hands
Canada now has a role to play in making sure that Venezuela transitions back to democracy — not into an American client state, writes Justin Ling.

The US has attacked a country, kidnapped its head of state, and is seizing its oil. Trump has invoked the Monroe Doctrine.

This is a moment for Canada to stand up: condemn this act of imperialism. Reject impunity and the politics of brute force.

We need an alternative to the 5 big banks that make record profits while charging us excessive fees. That's why postal banking is at the heart of our plan to stop price gouging: breaking the dominance of the big banks, strengthening the postal service, & saving you money.

Crunching the numbers on postal banking in Canada - CCPA
Among the many proposals to transform Canada Post, one stands out: postal banking. It’s a program that could contribute to solving multiple policy problems at once—help support our postal service with stable revenue, boost financial inclusion and enhance public services, and, unlike conventional banks that put profit first, create accessible public interest banking services.

Why is the media consistently saying "energy," when they actually mean "oil and gas"?
"Alberta energy deal" rather than "Alberta oil and gas deal" etc.
This is obfuscation.
It serves to present these agreements as beneficial to all, rather than specifically beneficial to the oil and gas industry.

China's diesel trucks shift to electric. This could change global LNG and diesel demand.
China is replacing its diesel trucks with electric models faster than expected, potentially reshaping global fuel demand and the future of heavy transport.
