Cleaning my gallery, and came across this gem. I know the truncated word is "assistant," but I still find this highly amusing.

Why yes, Meta AI, I will think of you like an ass lol

6. Farenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury

One of the few memorable books I read in high school. Because of all the events happening this year in this country, I wanted to reread it.

5. Onyx Storm by Rebecca Yarros

Finished this back in May. I read this immediately after book 2, so I was aware of who's who... But halfway through, things became too convoluted (too many names thrown around, not enough care into worldbuilding). I shut off my brain, and went along for the ride lol.

4. Iron Flame by Rebecca Yarros

After 623 pages, I finished the 2nd installment of the Empyrean series. Enjoyed the continued world building, but the story itself wasn't as enticing as Fourth Wing. I could do less with the couple drama too 😂

3. On Tyranny: Twenty Lessons from the Twentieth Century by Timothy D. Snyder

I can see why this is popular on this app, very relevant to the current political climate in the US.

2. Finished Fourth Wing by Rebecca Yarros the other day.

A coworker recommended this as an intro to the romantasty genre. I haven't read a thicc book since Harry Potter, but once the story picked up, I thought it was a page turner. It's a guilty pleasure book and overall entertaining.

1. What You Are Looking For Is in the Library by Michiko Aoyama

Charming, slice-of-life story about individuals at different stages in their life feeling stuck, and it felt relatable.

One of my favorite passages:
“Everybody is connected. And any one of their connections could be...

Attended a polymer clay workshop this past Thursday, and spent today making some more pieces with the leftover clay. Know these characters?

7. Chocolate crinkle from www.gimmesomeoven.com/chocolate-cr...

I made the dough around the same time as the ube crinkles, and added chocolate chips for extra gooeyness. But after the powder sugar fiasco with the ube crinkles, I decided to bake these the following day, and these turned out better.

6. Hojicha white chocolate chip from teakandthyme.com/hojicha-cook...

I ran out of AP flour at this point, so used a bit of bread flour instead. I adjusted the sugar level as well to counter the sweetness of the white chocolate chips, and pleased it turned out well.

5. Black tea, black sesame cookie, adapted from healthynibblesandbits.com/orange-black...

This one was the most challenging to bake out of the 7 to a point where I was very close to tossing it all in the trash 🫠

4. Brown butter chocolate chip, from zhangcatherine.com/salted-brown...

I've made this before, but it was my first time doubling the batch. I used those big fat chocolate bars from Trader Joe's, but it was a bit challenging cutting it into chunks (maybe my knives are dull or the bar is too thick).

3. Strawberry matcha neopolitan, from www.mochimommy.com/strawberry-m...

This was a bit tedious to make but the results are so satisfying. Also the flavor combo is chef's kiss and now I'm tempted to try other Asian flavors (black sesame, pandan, yuzu?!).

2. Ube crinkle, from www.kawalingpinoy.com/ube-crinkles

The night before Thanksgiving, I went to a Filipino grocery but all the ube extract and powder were sold out 😂 Thankfully another Asian market came in clutch.

Made my own ube halaya for this cause I'm extra like that.

1. Gochujang caramel, from Eric Kim / @nytcooking.bsky.social.

This cookie definitely lives up to its hype. Initially my gochujang sauce had butter bits, but I put the bowl over hot water (faux double boiler) to make the sauce smooth.

I'm really proud of accomplishing baking 7 cookies last week. I realized I took a decent amount of photos during the process, so come along :)
