I remember having to walk 15 houses down to the bus stop and waiting 15-20 minutes in the cold for the bus and freezing my butt off. No way would my mom drive me to school, regardless of the weather. As long as I’m a SAHM, they get to wait in the car at the stop for bad/cold weather.

I told him he wouldn’t feel embarrassed when he was warm and toasty in the car!

I’m so glad our school district doesn’t do that. Car rider pickup/drop off is a nightmare. I’d much rather just warm up the car and have kid #1 wait for the bus in the car. It’s only 4 houses down but there’s a 15 minute window for the bus to arrive.

The snow caught everyone by surprise here too. Yesterday called for rain and today was just supposed to be flurries, so they had to allow time for the trucks to come out to make the roads safe for the busses. I’ve got an AWD SUV so I’m just going to drive on over that stuff. 🤣

And kid #1 does not have school Wednesday as it’s a PD day!

That’s a great idea! I was able to get milkweed plants at a native plant sale last year but I’d love to start some from seed myself.

Fruit tree or two to go in ground but I can’t decide what or where. Columnar apples look cool. Either way I’m sad I won’t be able to do the more intensive vegetable gardening that I had planned. Of course if shit keeps hitting the fan and it becomes a necessity that’s another story.

I’m so pissed at how all these networks and everyone are not showing white people when talking about SNAP. We’re the largest demographic of SNAP recipients yet they’re primarily showing Black and Brown people and we all know why they’re doing it!
