I doubt the latter is fair. Seems a decent body of research show many with intellectual disabilities feel sadness and loss. They should not be laughed at.

If not, can we still dismiss the notion that the media coverage as we know it, makes the problem worse, perhaps much worse? It certainly is possible to envision a scenario where this story could be inspiring the next mass shooter.
