Movie locations buff with emphasis on HK because I've lived here since 2006. Proud member of the "AI Haters" List (thanks to whoever added me).

Steps up to Magnolia Road. I couldn't crouch as low as the film camera because I'm too old and it looked way too dodgy to passers-by...

Buddhist Shrine at the location of Alexander Fu Sheng's car crash on Tai Au Mun Road, Clearwater Bay. Supposedly paid for by Sir Run Run Shaw, but this is a common roadside shrine that can be seen all over Hong Kong.

Banzaï (1983) shows what remained of the former Peak Hotel just prior to the Peak Galleria being built. Old floor tiles on what would have been the rear of the first floor, and a small section of foundation where the hotel abutted into the neighbouring hillside.

Look at this monstrosity (source: Wiki). Does anyone know if it's still there or has the whole thing closed down? The last time I went up there was when "Ripley's Believe it or Not" was the main attraction.

Went up to the site of the old Golden Harvest studios today. Missed several opportunities to visit it in the late 90s when it was still operational and now it's a housing development called Knutsford Terrace. #regrets

Watching Inter-Pol (1967) and was surprised to see this shot of an area I know very well. If you can tell me where it is you get an imaginery prize. One of these buildings still looks like this.
