I mean this so seriously, if you are posting on any social media in the year 2025 and not including descriptive text/alt text for photos and captions/subtitles for videos, what are you doing ????

It has literally never been easier for you to make your content accessible!!!

Let it be known that May 28th, 2025 was the first time a man I went on a date with copy and pasted word for word an AI-generated response to text me back, complete with the "Got it! Here's a fun and flirty reply that mentions..." part at the beginning

In St. Louis, the sirens to warn people of a tornado threat were not activated by the City Emergency Management Agency before a deadly tornado hit on Friday, and a backup to activate the mechanism that is operated by the Fire Department was broken.

If you dont know by now, St. Louis, Missouri (especially the north side) was hit by an EF3 tornado last Friday.

There were no sirens. There has been no federal response/assistance with the destruction.

The internet's response has been: "Where's your savior Trump now? You voted for him."🧵

FYI: St. Louis city officials will conduct a planned tornado siren test at 3 p.m. today, according to the fire department.

The test will likely last around 20 minutes.

A lot of people on the internet not from MO are wondering how we voted to protect the right to choice and for other progressive policies but also voted in republican representatives that are now overturning the will of the people.

It's gerrymandering.

centrists often blame Black poverty on cultural decay but refuse to interrogate how white billionaires can fail upward for decades.

that's why they ask “why would a genius act this way?” rather than “why do we keep mistaking wealth and whiteness for genius?”

Important questions being answered for me today:
The word 'orange' was the word for the fruit before it was the word for the color.

A graphic video shows the moment that Israeli troops fired on aid workers in clearly marked vehicles in Gaza, killing 15 people. The footage contradicts Israel’s version of events in an episode that has drawn international scrutiny. Read witness accounts: www.nytimes.com/2025/04/06/w...

Two days ago. This is the moment Israel bombed & destroyed the desalination plant in the Tuffah neighborhood, east of Gaza City.
Watch and listen closely. That flash, that plume—and then… a human being, flung like debris. Genocide falls short to describe Israel's crimes against humanity in Gaza.

Today is my mom's first protest EVER. She sent me pics of her sign this morning and is going with a friend. I hate that I have to work and can't go with her, but at the same time...

55 years old and my mom is getting politically active! I'm so proud of her 🥰

Turned on Gasolina at work to help me chart the more tedious stuff.

My coworkers: "Are we sold on this playlist? I just feel like we need something *less* stimulating."

...

Maybe the autism assessment test was on to something.

*Goes to book store for 1 specific cookbook*

*Leaves with 3 DVDs & 4 cookbooks, not one of them the specific one I was looking for*

But honestly, very happy with these choices

Last night, after getting off work, I reached out to a social justice team I'm part of, trying to figure out how to organize for the latest mess.

This morning, I woke up to the sweetest email chain that offered assurance, validation, and jokes, as well as ideas & plans.

Humans can be pretty great.

In case anyone was wondering how dating in 2025 is going, my current bar is:

Does this person ask questions about me? Or even try to hold a conversation?

No one has met this bar in the last 4 months.

Below. Hell.

The bar is below hell.
