You can't, because you would have moved and dropped the owned future in the first iteration. So you have to take a reference to it and have select poll it through that indirection.

The usecase is you have a long future, some periodic task, and only one worker thread. So you do

loop{
select!{
&mut long => ...
timeout(...) => heartbeat()
}
}

Not really something you'd do outside of embedded.

It's pretty common if you `select` in a loop and want some of the operations to continue being polled across multiple iterations.

It would be funnier if you talked to him about diaper fetish ngl

I just don't think games need to pander to the absolute lowest common denominator. Like, I dropped Dark Souls after a few attempts at the Taurus Demon. I don't think I really have any buiseness writing a negative review about how it's hostile to the player and anti-fun. It just is not a game for me

What do you mean by "good"? You need three points in survival and four common components, or just 9000 credits to get one. 9k credits is about a dozen basic ARCs worth of loot. Sterling has never been good at shooters, I've been watching their YT channel for close to a decade now.

That's my point, they effectively already give anyone who has any chance of getting actually valuable loot a hatch key.
November 15, 2025 at 3:49 PM
(btw your short boiled down to "I think there are not enough safe extract spots", and ignoring how trivial it is to get hatch keys. Hell, there's a perk in the skill tree that let's you craft the key directly during the match)

No? It still does a lot even with light ammo. Two shots to the engines from the silenced light ammo pistol is enough to down either of the flying arcs. Heavy ammo is for exposing weak spots on armored arcs.

Are you saying it's not a strand type game? I think it is, an I love it for that.
November 15, 2025 at 1:17 PM
I think this one is a bit odd in a way it's used by people who are very much not six. You didn't see adults talk about the cool S or whatever until the millennials started reminiscing about being six.

But here I am, using six-seventh to fish for likes at a ripe young age of 29 years.
November 15, 2025 at 1:02 PM
I'm pretty sure it literally means nothing besides "I get the shared reference". But the the reference is the absence of reference. It's like loss, if there never was a comic and we just gaslit ourself into thinking | |¦ || |_ was culturally meaningfull
November 15, 2025 at 12:45 PM
Was it extremely bad if people are still referencing it six years later?
November 15, 2025 at 11:04 AM
It does, but it's not very effective. Top 1000 leaderboard is filled to the brim with blatant cheaters.
November 15, 2025 at 10:59 AM
Yeah, but having a second machine that's fast enough to do CV processing is a hell of a lot more of an investment into cheating than downloading a dll injector executable.

If you have moral issues with the use of """AI""", sure. Hell, give the game a 0/10 on the basis that the scale only applies to things actually made by humans. Clunky menuing? Sure, that's totally true.
November 15, 2025 at 10:37 AM
Skill issue: the review.
The only conceivable way you could walk away from the game feeling like the gunplay feels "particularly shitty" and that all the guns are "peashooters" is if you have never hit a weak spot on one of those "generic robots".
November 15, 2025 at 10:37 AM
Have you considered getting a crush instead of crashing out?
November 15, 2025 at 10:21 AM
Yeh, that's pretty much the same as my usecase except for the input timestamp format
